If you operate a bus, van or any other public vehicle in the province, vehicle inspection in Punjab is something you need to understand. The Transport Department developed the Vehicle Inspection and Certification System (VICS) so that all public vehicles are inspected and certified with modern equipment. This guide explains the project, how it works, and where its inspection stations are.
Why Punjab Introduced VICS
Punjab's vehicle population has grown rapidly. The project description reports an average annual growth rate of 14.54% between 1994 and 2015, with especially high growth in motorcycles and private cars. That growth has contributed to environmental degradation, congestion and road safety concerns. VICS was designed to provide safe, reliable and efficient transport services across the province.
